![]() ![]() ![]() :) He's been my little green pal since he was only 8 weeks old. I've been his butler/care taker for the last 13 years and look forward to many more. Hello all! My name is Tim, and I'm from San Diego, California. Mine is named Tarzan (9 years old) and he shares HIS home with Jane our miniature Dachshund :) I share my home with a 10+ year old red bellied parrot named Jack. I have had my little guy for over 15 years now. Because he acts like a monkey swinging around his cage. My Senegal's name is Abu after the monkey in Aladdin. Since we got him at 4 months he is always full of energy. Have a friend from Africa and I thought that since my parrot was from Africa so should his name and kani means energy in swahili. He also loves to spy on our bunny while he hops around the house, giving him the evil eye from atop his cage. He is helping to bring my Goffins Cockatoo out of her shell. He's a stubborn little clown, but tons of fun. Named him Mosquito but usually use Skeeter or Skeeto for short. But it sure does fit his personality perfectly! My 7 month old male sennie is named Chewy. Teasedale is the last name that he shares with his cagemate, Sage the Sennie, because they tease the other parrots in my flock at every given opportunity (particularly the quakers, but anybirdy will do). He left the earth 2 years ago and is missed.ĭon't know where the Beaumont came just seemed right. He was a beautiful man who could sing the history of his tribe back 500 years, played the kora and knew thousands of songs and ceremonies. The name Djimo came from a esteemed friend of ours who was from Senegal, Djimo Kouyate, who was a djali or tribal historian. My male Senegal is called Djimo Beaumont Teasedale. Maia is more of my cuddle bug than a talker.I love them both so much. I bought them both when they were 2 months old. I have a meyers names Maia who is going to be 9 years old in May.Also have a 8 year old Senegal named Gigi. I have a male Senegal named General Beauregarde, whom I have had since I was eight, and I have another Senegal that I rescued named Ali. He gets along great with our dog - he throws food to him sometimes just to see him run across the room. He is my first parrot, I've had budgies before. He likes to swing upside down and say "bat bird." He is funny and is talking more and more. I should also mention, Petey is six or something now. To round out the zoo are 2 dogs, 4 rabbits, a betta, some guppies, and a pair of human monkeys who do all the caretaking. There's a whole flock of other birds, a timneh african grey named sam, and 13 twits of assorted twitter pated chirpy birds in an aviary. He flies like a little helicopter and goes all over the house. My senegal's name is Paco Pete Soto (petey) and he's a charming little darling. I created a set just for them, titled "Our Flock". We hope that they are around for a long time! Jules is interested in everyone and everything, and loves to dance and sing! He likes to sit on my shoulder while I'm watching TV. Floyd keeps to himself mostly, unless he is hanging out with his dad. Lee and I have a 3-year-old red belly named Floyd, and a 2-year-old Jardine named Jules. We also have two 2 year old budgies named Blue and Turkey (short for Blue Chicken and Prince Turkey Hawk). Two weeks ago I got a red-bellied parrot. :o) He's the best bird ever! Although he cant stand my Black headed caique! Hes super jealous of her.lol I've had him since a hatchling and hand fed him and now hes 2 years old. She has been a member of the family for 3 yrs now. Hello, My Jardine's name is Murtle!! She ( I think ) came to me when she was 18months. My little one year old Meyers is called Indy - he is such a character, a real mischeif! My senegal is called Zuri which is African for "Beautiful", which she certainly is :3 I've had her for almost 3 weeks now and she's so amazing, I love her to bits ^^ She is just over 5 years (I have had her since she was around 5 months). Hello! My name is Deanna, and I am in Ontario, Canada. The original person Tima was a very sweet, kind person, much loved in the community. A friend worked with the Yanomamo for 25 years, and suggested the name. Tima is a Yanomamo Indian (Brazil) name meaning "one who comes from above" either physically or metaphysically. Tima is my Meyer's Parrot, aged 5 years, with me since the age of 10 weeks. Her brother, who also appears once in a while in the pool, is named Nemo. Wondering what the name(s) of your feathered friend(s) is/are. Just though I'd start a little more interaction in this group. ![]()
